I love the magic
of spontaneous expression and am
drawn towards abstract expressionism.
BACKGROUND:
Elaine Snell was born and raised in Langley B.C. From

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She accepted a bursary
offer from the VON, and came to Brockville in July, 1957. Soon
after she arrived she met John McClintock and they were married
in 1959. Brockville has been her home ever since. In later years
Elaine earned a Masters Degree in Education from Queens University.
Elaines formal career spanned administration. Following her
retirement, Elaine started her formal art education at St. Lawrence

INFLUENCES/MEDIA/SUBJECT
Elaine loves the creative process and is inspired by the works of
other artists and craftsmen. One of her favorite pastimes is visiting art
galleries and museums. She is now experimenting with all media and
especially enjoys pastels, watercolors and oils. She is fascinated with
colour and shapes and how light affects the image, and enjoys the
magic of spontaneous expression. She now has work hanging in
Brockville, Prescott, Toronto and Windsor.
ARTISTS STATEMENT:
I find colour, line, and shape fascinating, as well as how light
affects the image. I draw my inspiration from nature and the
human figure. I love the magic of spontaneous expression and
am drawn towards abstract expressionism.
