BACKGROUND
Arlene Hare counts her approach to style, design and method in her art
as her own unique expression. Born in Gananoque, Ontario, Arlene has lived in
Spencerville, Ontario for 14 years.

EDUCATION
Always eager to learn more, Arlene intends to attend more
workshops in future.

MEMBERSHIPS
She has been a member of the NGAG since September, 2003, and
is also a member of the Brockville Artists’ Studio.

EXHIBITS
Exhibitions in which she has shown her work include Anvil Studio,
Pottstown, Pa, USA,Spencerville Fair, Brockville Studio Artists Show,
North Grenville Art Guild Fall Show.

PREFERRED MEDIA
A multi media artist, she works in Watercolour/Gouache, Pastel, Pen/Ink
and Acrylics. Her work is largely abstract in nature, developed around
figurative and floral subjects and often influenced by her work in Sumi-e.

ARTISTIC INFLUENCES
While Arlene takes inspiration from instructors, workshops, outdoors
and other artists, she also counts as influences artists like Toulouse
Lautrec, Georgia O’Keeffe, Emily Carr, Carla O’Connor, Schiele,
Kirchner and many more.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My goals are slowly becoming reality in my life and the last three
years have been a big stepping stone to becoming confident enough to
join the local art guilds and show my art. Other artists I have met locally
are very encouraging and friendly.
