painting
as a hobby for retirement but it has become her joy in life. Education: Elsie

latest
works are done with a painting knife. She also enjoys working in watercolor
and
mixed media. Preferred Subject: Elsie paints most subjects but prefers landscapes.
All elements of nature have a unique quality of their own which she tries
to portray
on canvas or paper. Artistic Influences: Elsie is a great admirer of the work
of the
Group of Seven, Pegi Nicol MacLeod, Kevin Macpherson and Mary Anne Goetz.
She is influenced by most artists who paint in an impressionistic way.
Artist Statement:
To Paint! The act of applying media to a support in shapes and colors to stir
the
emotions of the viewer - to show nature as it is,was or could be. At present
these
are my goals. They allow me the freedom to do it my way.
