I enjoy Fine Art in all its forms

BACKGROUND:
Susan was born in a small Saskatchewan town and moved to Ottawa as a teenager.
She came to Brockville to train as a nurse at the Psychiatric Hospital.

EDUCATION:
Susan started formal art lessons in charcoal drawing and oil painting at BCI night
school under Mr. Charles Gilder. When St. Lawrence College opened she progressed
under the tutelage of Joan Holben, taking a varity of classes. She particularly liked
exploring the many forms of print making. She started waterclour painting with Larry
Sherman and this has become her preferred medium. Susan received her Fine Arts Certificate
from St. Lawrence College in 1982.

PREFERRED MEDIA:
Although watercolour painting is Susan's main medium, she is currently doing
some acrylic and pen and ink art.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
I enjoy Fine Art in all it's forms. For subjects I most often do nature, old barns and the many
changing scenes of the St. Lawrence River.
